Mencia - VALTUILLE DE ABAJO

Versos de
Valtuille

Musts of Mencía, Bastardo and Godello Viejo descend by gravity to ferment with indigenous yeasts. The wine then rests for twelve months in French oak barrels, slowly refining until it becomes a rosé that reads like a verse: fresh, delicate and full of Bierzo identity.

PARKER

“Verses, verses
those that I carry inside me,
those that have inhabited me since I was born.

From the Peña to the Agro,
from the Burbia to the Sil,
inch by inch I have sown you
in love with you.”

Helios Estevez

El Paraje

This wine is born from a blend of old vineyards in Valtuille de Abajo, where the Mencia sinks its roots in soils of clay, slate, lime and pebbles. Vines over 75 years old, grown in goblet and trellis, which extend between 500 and 550 meters above sea level and look at different orientations, picking up unique nuances of each corner of the place.

The diversity of these vineyards creates a unique mosaic: different lights, different soils, the same spirit.
